Description:

TalentAlly, on behalf of Capital One, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, Accounting: Close & Consolidations to lead its accounting operations in a hybrid role based in Richmond, VA. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned accounting leader to contribute to critical functions such as monthly close cycles, legal entity consolidations, intercompany transactions, and strategic projects like ERP implementation and mergers & acquisitions.

The ideal candidate will bring a balanced mix of technical accounting knowledge, operational leadership, and system transformation experience. This role demands strong collaboration across departments and the ability to foster and develop a high-performing accounting team while promoting diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for month-end close, consolidated and legal entity financials.

  • Oversee complex intercompany transaction processes and legal entity structures.

  • Play a strategic role in system enhancements, ERP implementation, and M&A activities.

  • Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

  • Mentor and develop team members through coaching, training, and performance reviews.

  • Foster partnerships with finance, audit, and technology teams to drive process improvements.

  • Support compliance and governance efforts within accounting operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience.

  • At least 7 years of experience in accounting, audit, or finance.

  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading Close & Consolidations processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA license (Active).

  • 8+ years of accounting/audit/finance experience.

  • 3+ years of experience managing teams.

  • 5+ years in financial institutions.

  • 3+ years of leadership in Close & Consolidations.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual salary range for Richmond, VA: $155300 to $177200
    (equivalent to approx. $12941 to $14766 monthly)
