Description:

Capital One, a leading financial services institution, is seeking multiple Senior Managers to join its Commercial Credit Review team based in New York, NY. This is a full-time role within the organization’s third line of defense function, responsible for providing independent assessments of credit quality, identifying key and emerging risks, and evaluating credit process execution. The role plays a vital part in protecting the firm’s credit integrity across a wide portfolio of commercial products.

The Senior Manager will be involved in continuous transactional testing, targeted review activities, and strategic analysis across diverse commercial segments including Middle Market Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Energy, Capital Markets, and more. This high-impact position requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to effectively interface with executive management and cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct transactional testing to assess client selection, underwriting quality, borrower monitoring, and risk rating accuracy.

  • Analyze portfolio composition to identify trends, emerging risks, and provide opinions on overall credit quality.

  • Lead or contribute to targeted reviews on high-risk portfolios or segments.

  • Identify gaps or deficiencies in credit policies, processes, and rating models.

  • Deliver concise, data-driven insights and results to senior management, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business heads and senior lenders through consistent communication and collaboration.

  • May lead quarterly business assessments, monitoring plans, or special projects.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Military experience

  • Minimum of 8 years in credit-related roles including underwriting, workout, risk management, or regulatory review

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)

  • Advanced credit and financial analysis skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities

  • Proven leadership and ability to manage complex, cross-functional tasks

  • Experience in risk identification, assessment, and communication

  • Familiarity with credit review frameworks and large-scale banking operations


Compensation & Benefits:

  • New York, NY Salary Range: $210500–$240300 annually (approx. $17541–$20025/month)
