Description:

The Center for Jewish History (CJH) is actively seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Events and Visitor Experience to lead the events and visitor services team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position plays a key role in shaping and delivering engaging experiences for all guests while supporting the execution of events that serve the mission of CJH and its five in-house partner organizations.

The Senior Manager will oversee a variety of functions, from staffing and AV management to revenue generation through venue rentals and event execution. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a collaborative spirit and extensive experience managing high-profile events and diverse teams in fast-paced cultural or nonprofit environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Visitor Experience and Events team in providing outstanding customer service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere

  • Implement team staffing plans, scheduling, training, and performance standards

  • Supervise the A/V department and ensure high-quality audiovisual support for events and programs

  • Manage all logistics of internal and external events, including contracts, on-site coordination, and client satisfaction

  • Develop rental strategies for the Center’s event spaces, generating income while enhancing client engagement

  • Build effective working relationships with internal departments and external partners to streamline event processes

  • Establish clear procedures and guidelines for event execution

  • Track and analyze visitor data to identify patterns and inform attendance-boosting strategies

  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

Prerequisites:

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in events planning or logistics

  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines in a high-energy environment

  • Proficient in event and project management, with strong communication abilities

  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently and proactively

  • Comfortable managing diverse stakeholders with patience and professionalism

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends based on event needs

Working Conditions:

  • Physical labor required including walking, lifting moderate weight, and occasional ladder use
