Description:
The purpose of the Senior Manager IT, Application Development position is to lead a development transformation team in the design, analysis and development of highly scalable critical airline capabilities like Irregular Operations management and ATC coordination. Leading a large multi-functional team. This position will collaborate extensively with our business and development partners to design, develop and integrate services that meets the business needs. This position will have a strong focus on Java programming skills, AWS Cloud expertise, Agile development and organizational change management with the ability to influence innovation and through leadership.
Product Delivery and support
- Responsible for creation of Platforms that support Airline irregular operations management, Simulate the airline operations for what if scenarios and ATC coordination.
- Possess strong Organizational Change Management skills to help guide the airline through this fundamental transition
- Lead the support team to provide 24x7 support for critical NOC applications
- Oversee and lead projects to ensure delivery of work requests and projects are within committed budget, on schedule, and the quality of individual projects meets the overall program performance goals
- Manage development and application KPIs, take corrective actions where vital proper documentation of applications and implement continuous improvements
Development Standards, Tools & Architecture
- Ensure IT application development process disciplines (solution delivery, project management, work requests, QA, etc.) and standards are established, effectively managed and performed
- Lead in formulating and following the procedures and processes for development
- Play a key role with the formation of agile delivery teams for development and technology delivery
- Create a team structure and process for quality control during development, testing for debugging code and deployment
- Remain informed of new technologies and/or business processes and incorporating those technologies to improve the productivity of the applications staff and software systems' maintainability
- Drive continuous improvement and be adaptable to changing designs and to adding performance enhancements
Leadership
- Lead a multi-functional impactful team responsible for designing, developing, and maintains cloud based applications
- Manage vendor development teams assigned to projects and core support
- Cultivate professional development and energy in the team
- Establish department and individual goals
- Assess and recommend improvements to the organization structure, roles and responsibilities
- Participate actively in future strategy, goals, objectives, and operational performance
- Create and maintain a dedication by interacting and mentoring junior and senior level developers
