Description:

This hands-on leadership role focuses on partnering with business units to apply advanced data science techniques that drive significant business value at Chamberlain Group. You will lead and coach data scientists in designing, developing, and deploying predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions aligned with strategic priorities.

You will collaborate directly with senior leadership and business partners, serving as a catalyst for advanced analytics adoption and enabling better data-driven decisions across the company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with business leaders to understand their strategies and KPIs, sharing ownership of goals.

  • Lead, manage, coach, recruit, and onboard a team of highly technical data scientists.

  • Drive the data science methodology, strategy, and best practices.

  • Lead technical engagements with business units and senior leaders.

  • Promote advanced analytics and data science adoption throughout the organization.

  • Educate business users on analytical concepts.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data science insights and models.

  • Identify and apply innovative analytical and machine learning techniques to business problems.

  • Manage relationships with external data science vendors and resources.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and confidentiality policies.

  • Maintain professional knowledge through continuous learning and networking.

  • Contribute to team and organizational projects as needed.


Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, engineering, or related quantitative field.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years managing data scientists or analysts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expert in statistics, advanced analytics, and machine learning (forecasting, predictive modeling, network/cluster analysis).

  • Skilled at translating complex business problems into data science models and solutions.

  • Strong leadership skills to drive team success and influence stakeholders.

  • Advanced expertise in machine learning algorithm development.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL.

  • Experience with data science platforms (e.g., Databricks), distributed computing, large-scale data analytics, and cloud scaling (e.g., Azure).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in related quantitative fields.

  • Experience leading end-to-end data science projects using Agile methodologies.

  • Experience in analytical consulting roles.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $123,600 to $216,150 (varies by role, location, experience).

  • Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k).

  • Eligible for short-term incentive plan.
