This position is critical in leading the development team and partnering with key product, R&D and business teams to deliver products that achieve our business goals and represent the core of Starbucks. This position is considered a member of the leadership team that reports into the director and is expected to respectfully challenge status quo, constantly identify new opportunities, and help shape the future of the organization.

Lead development team for all formats of Starbucks and Reserve branded coffee products that meet the strategic objectives and growth plans across all business and channels

  • Further develop strong partnerships with key functions including business units, R&D beverage and equipment, sourcing, quality and operations
  • Identify and lead way of work optimizations and new opportunities that support our coffee sourcing strategy, coffee innovation aspirations and beverage, packaged coffee and CPG/foodservice portfolios
  • Apply a growth and innovation mindset along with natural business acumen to support overarching enterprise strategies while simultaneously developing a high performing team and leaders of the future
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of US military experience
  • 5 or more years of coffee, food science or sensory experience
  • Seven to ten years in a role supporting brand management, product development, supply chain, marketing, and/or business strategy
  • Five or more years of experience in managing multiple budgets
  • Five or more years of leading a team or leading cross-functional based projects
  • One or more years of international work experience
  • Ability to travel internationally 1-2 times a year
  • Experienced in coaching and developing others on functional skills
  • Capable of driving multi-level leadership discussions with minimal oversight. Excels in written and oral communication across the organization to represent the category
  • Able to successfully engage and enroll resources, support teams in resolving challenges in projects or programs Leverages prior learnings to anticipate and plan for new initiatives
  • Skilled in managing ambiguity to drive innovation. Capable of finding and articulating white space opportunities, linking ideas together to make them stronger
  • Ability to meet both the tactical needs of the team and provide the strategic vision necessary to move the team forward, and obtain maximum impact from analyses
  • Capacity to influence at a senior level with excellent oral and written communication skills
