Description:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be part of our enterprise network team tasked with designing, implementing, and managing IT Enterprise and Industrial Control System (ICS) networking solutions across ENGIE North America. This position also works closely with ENGIE’s global infrastructure team to ensure alignment and implementation of global networking standards throughout the region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the subject matter expert (SME) on enterprise internetworking technologies and providing network escalation support to other teams.
- Maintaining, enforcing, and communicating IT and ICS network standards and policies to all stakeholders.
- Accurately documenting and inventorying network details to comply with IT Controls requirements.
- Prioritizing tasks effectively, managing competing demands, and considering long-term implications for support, security, and cost-efficiency in deliverables.
- Responding to IT incidents and disaster recovery events.
- Demonstrating effective communication skills with both internal and external parties, including customers and vendors.
- Proactively monitoring network availability and scalability and presenting continuous improvement recommendations to management.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise and Industrial Control System (ICS) networks. An associate degree with at least six (6) years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, will also be considered.
- Strong systematic and logical troubleshooting skills and willingness to assist with resolving issues outside of networking area.
- In-depth knowledge in designing and managing network and security components across multiple public clouds (Such as AWS and Azure) and on-Premises Data Center.
- In-depth knowledge in Enterprise Core Networking technologies such as LAN, WAN, WIFI, VPN, SDWAN, Firewall, WAF, and Load balancer.
- In-depth knowledge in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, 802.1x, 802.1Q, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and STP.
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule consisting of three (3) days in the office and two (2) days remote.
- Depending on project demands, employees may be required to work in the office up to five (5) days per week to meet critical deadlines.
- The position also requires participation in an on-call rotation with the team to provide after-hours support.
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time to industrial sites, including occasional overnight trips.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record
- Could involve some lifting / up to 25 lbs
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- This position consists of 10% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions at the industrial sites.
