Diasorin is a global leader in diagnostic solutions, innovating to improve healthcare worldwide for over 50 years. As a Senior Principal Scientist in the Scientific Affairs team, you will be a top technical expert in molecular diagnostic test kits and reagents. You will work closely with multiple teams — Marketing, R&D, Applications, Commercial, and Technical Service — supporting product implementation and customer needs, serving as the voice of the customer in new product development, and facilitating scientific studies leading to peer-reviewed publications.
This role involves significant customer interaction, technical training, troubleshooting, and collaboration with key opinion leaders and lab directors. The position is field-based, eligible for remote work within the U.S., and requires 50-60% domestic travel, with occasional international travel.
Assist high complexity labs and key accounts with Diasorin molecular diagnostic products, including instruments, software, and reagents.
Serve as a technical consultant and expert for LIAISON MDx systems, engaging with national, commercial, hospital accounts, and international teams.
Perform demonstrations, on-site training, and virtual customer assistance.
Develop educational workshops and continuing education seminars for laboratory users.
Lead development of protocols to aid customer product verification and validation.
Provide technical training to sales, applications, and internal teams.
Support complaint analysis and troubleshooting in cooperation with Quality and Technical Service.
Facilitate scientific studies and research agreements; contribute to scientific publications.
Represent Diasorin at trade shows, conferences, and customer educational events.
Collaborate with Marketing and R&D to support marketing activities and new product launches.
Provide field-based knowledge for new product development and regulatory submissions.
May supervise and mentor Scientific Affairs staff and Application Scientists.
Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations.
PhD in relevant scientific discipline.
Minimum 9 years of clinical laboratory and/or industry experience; prior customer-support roles preferred.
Expertise in molecular diagnostic testing, including FDA cleared and lab-developed tests.
Strong understanding of infectious disease molecular diagnostics and relevant lab standards.
Proven record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
Experience mentoring and training technical staff.
Self-motivated, independent, and detail-oriented.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Ability to interpret technical and business documents, write reports, and respond to varied audiences.
Skilled in statistical concepts relevant to epidemiology and diagnostics.
50-60% domestic travel required
Occasional international travel as needed
Salary range: $140,000 to $180,000 annually (based on experience, skills, education, certifications)
