Senior Revenue Accountant

Description:

Science 37, a leader in decentralized clinical trials, is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to support financial operations at its Morrisville, NC site. The company's mission is to accelerate clinical research by enabling broader trial access through its Direct-to-Patient Site and Patient Recruitment solutions. Powered by a proprietary technology stack, Science 37 delivers enhanced quality and efficiency across clinical studies.

This on-site role is vital to maintaining accurate financial records, executing monthly close procedures, reconciling accounts, managing revenue-related activities, and supporting the business with insight into study budgets, site performance, and contracts. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to handle multiple tasks independently while adhering to GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the General Ledger with accurate and audit-supported journal entries

• Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts

• Monitor and manage cash balances to ensure adequate operational funding

• Set up new agreements in NetSuite and sponsor platforms in coordination with Clinical Operations and Business Development

• Capture billing data, invoice sponsors per MSA terms, and respond to billing inquiries

• Reconcile AR and deferred revenue accounts and track collection efforts

• Monitor and fund VI activities and calculate quarterly commissions

• Assist with study closeout reconciliations and monthly financial report compilation

• Participate in audits and regulatory reporting with accurate support schedules

• Drive continuous improvement in financial tools and systems using AI and automation

• Support cross-functional initiatives, special projects, and process enhancements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA progression preferred)

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience (clinical research or healthcare a plus)

• Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition

• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with NetSuite (highly preferred)

• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting

• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail

• Professional demeanor with integrity, teamwork, and communication skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google applications, and innovative AI tools is advantageous
