Senior Sales Application Engineer

Electro-Mech Components, a Tier 1 aerospace organization known for its reliable potentiometer switches, pushbutton switches, split-image switches, illuminated push-button switches, and multi-switch assemblies, is seeking a Senior Sales Application Engineer. This role involves working directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to manage critical product modifications for aerospace hardware used in aircraft cockpits worldwide.

As a Senior Sales Application Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority on product modifications, ensuring the feasibility and compliance of customer-driven designs. You will lead configuration management processes, prepare and manage technical proposals, and maintain documentation to support lifecycle reliability and compliance audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical authority for potentiometer switches, pushbutton switches, split-image switches, illuminated push-button switches, and multi-switch assemblies.

• Focus on modification and customization of existing components.

• Evaluate and implement customer-driven design modifications, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., DO160, Mil-STD-202, AS9100).

• Lead product configuration management, including configuration identification, control, status accounting, and verification/audit, in line with AS9100.

• Work directly with customers to prepare and manage technical proposals, including cost, scope, and schedule estimates for requested modifications.

• Maintain traceability of design changes and manage documentation for lifecycle reliability, compliance audits, and future upgrades.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in aerospace and defense, specifically with electromechanical controls and switches.

• CMII or equivalent Configuration Management certification is desirable.

• Experience in project management is a plus.
