Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company is hiring a Senior Software Developer for a full-time direct hire position in Needham, MA. This opportunity is for a highly skilled developer to contribute to the development of a next-generation investment technology platform for a leading financial services firm. The position offers visa sponsorship for qualified candidates.

As part of the Investment Technology team, you will help build a seamless, scalable platform that supports all asset classes and enhances the productivity of portfolio managers. You will be a key player in designing and developing new features and mentoring junior developers while ensuring software development best practices are followed across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-level applications using React, NodeJS, and AWS services (EC2, OpenSearch, Lambda).

• Collaborate with business analysts, QA engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.

• Maintain and improve core platform services and CI/CD pipelines used by multiple development teams.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to other developers.

• Contribute to defining coding standards, deployment strategies, and architectural decisions.

• Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.

• Stay up to date with modern development tools, methodologies, and best practices.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience:

  • 10–15+ years of hands-on programming experience developing enterprise applications (not just supporting them).

  • Minimum of 4+ years of React development experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS Cloud (specifically EC2, OpenSearch, Lambda functions).

  • 3+ years of NodeJS development experience.

  • Familiarity with source control and CI/CD tools like GitHub and Jenkins.

  • Prior experience mentoring developers is a must.

  • Financial services industry experience is a plus.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in full-stack development using modern front-end and back-end technologies.

  • Strong understanding of cloud-native application architecture.

  • Skilled in deployment pipelines and collaborative software development processes.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Independent, self-motivated, and able to work within a collaborative team environment.

• Work Schedule:

  • Hybrid role with 4 days/week onsite in Needham or Boston, MA (Needham preferred).
