Description:
A global organization is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to handle a dynamic workload involving U.S. and international tax compliance and reporting, incorporating both direct and indirect tax responsibilities. This role requires working from the office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and provides a strong opportunity for growth within a globally recognized entity.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Provision and Reporting: Assist with the preparation of GAAP income tax provisions and cumulative deferred tax roll forwards in compliance with ASC 740 and FIN48, including necessary calculations and disclosures.
Compliance: Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns and modifications, as well as non-income tax filings, ensuring proper documentation of book/tax differences.
Tax Authority Communication: Respond to inquiries and notices from taxing authorities, ensuring timely and accurate correspondence.
Audit Liaison: Work closely with internal and external auditors regarding direct and indirect tax reporting matters.
Customer Tax Documentation: Interface with various internal groups to address issues related to customer tax exemption certificates and maintain proper procedures.
Process Improvement: Initiate and lead improvements related to tax software automation and procedural enhancements.
Tax Research and Planning: Assist in tax research, planning activities, and transfer pricing analysis, offering recommendations based on thorough analysis.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, including exposure to both direct and indirect taxes.
Strong understanding of ASC 740 and FIN48 compliance and reporting standards.
Effective communication skills to liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and internal teams.
Initiative to drive process improvements and enhance tax automation systems.
Analytical skills for conducting tax research and recommending effective tax strategies.
