As a Sr. Territory Account Manager (Mountain West), you will play a key role in driving sales growth and market expansion for Illumina’s cutting-edge sequencing and genomics solutions. You will be responsible for achieving revenue targets within your assigned territory, developing strong customer relationships, and providing strategic insights that enhance Illumina’s market presence in the clinical and research genomics sectors.
Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan to exceed revenue goals across your assigned territory.
Manage and grow key accounts by delivering technical expertise and high-quality support.
Identify, pursue, and close high-value clinical and research sales opportunities in key areas such as Oncology, Reproductive Health, Infectious Disease, and Whole Genome/Exome Sequencing.
Utilize CRM tools to track, analyze, and expand sales opportunities, ensuring accurate forecasts and efficient account management.
Engage customers in a complex multi-tiered sales process involving capital equipment, consumables, and service contracts.
Present technical and compelling product demonstrations and provide post-sale training and support to clients.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients through consultative and data-driven approaches.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including product, marketing, and training — to ensure client success and operational efficiency.
Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and technological advancements to strategically position Illumina’s offerings.
Travel extensively (50% or more) to engage with customers and manage regional sales operations effectively.
Minimum of 3 years of proven success in clinical or translational sales roles.
Strong technical foundation in molecular biology, sequencing, or genomics.
Demonstrated ability to grow target markets and maintain long-term client relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage complex pipelines.
Experience using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) to track and optimize sales performance.
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in a related life science discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
Willingness to travel frequently within assigned regions.
Competitive base salary: USD 105,600 – USD 158,400 annually
