Site Engineering Intern

Description:

Site Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the planning, design, and development of civil engineering projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, you will contribute to site investigations, technical drafting, data analysis, project design, and construction support.

This internship provides exposure to real-world projects that help shape communities while offering valuable insight into civil engineering design, project development, regulatory requirements, and construction practices. You may participate in site visits to assess existing conditions and verify that construction aligns with engineering plans, while also assisting with feasibility studies, site assessments, permitting research, and project documentation. In the office, you will support engineers with site layouts, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management systems, utility design, and other civil infrastructure improvements. You may also assist with preparing and updating technical drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, compiling and analyzing project data, maintaining project documentation, and contributing to technical reports and project deliverables.

Location

This internship will be based in our Glastonbury, CT office with opportunities for field visits, mentorship, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

What We Are Looking For
 

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred but not required
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Previous internship, co-op, or field experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Interest in civil/site engineering, land development, infrastructure, and the built environment
