Global Foundries, a prominent full-service semiconductor foundry, is seeking an Equipment Interface Software Development Engineer to join its automation engineering team at Fab 8 in Malta, New York. The company is renowned for its advanced design and fabrication services, supporting innovative technology solutions worldwide.
In this full-time on-site role, the selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting equipment interface software used in manufacturing environments. You will collaborate with global teams and internal stakeholders to enhance factory automation systems that drive efficiency and productivity. Your role will be vital in integrating new equipment into existing systems, maintaining reliability, and ensuring seamless factory operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and testing equipment interfaces using object-oriented programming techniques.
Partnering with internal teams to gather requirements, propose effective solutions, and validate implementations.
Leveraging GlobalFoundries' factory systems to build and support automation solutions.
Driving continuous improvement through innovation and adherence to industry best practices.
Coordinating with other GlobalFoundries 300mm factories to promote a global strategy of standardization, reuse, and innovation.
Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work in multicultural teams, and the potential to obtain ITAR Certification due to the nature of the work. Preference will be given to those with semiconductor industry experience and familiarity with mission-critical software development.
This role may require obtaining a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance. Applicants must be willing to comply with all clearance-related inquiries and assessments if requested.
