Software Engineer

Description:

Meta is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineers to lead product development across a range of cutting-edge technologies that power products used by billions globally. As a Technical Leader, you will guide the direction of critical engineering projects, shape product architecture, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and mentor high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical direction and multi-year roadmap for large-scale product teams

• Drive team goals that align with broader organizational efficiency and impact

• Solve complex, large-scale system and product challenges with innovation

• Effectively communicate and break down complex systems and designs

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and executive leadership to align strategic goals

• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues across product platforms

• Promote technical excellence through mentorship, code quality, and architectural integrity

• Influence the prioritization and resourcing of high-impact ideas

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

• 12+ years of programming experience (or 8+ years with a PhD) in a relevant language

• Demonstrated ability to lead long-term technical efforts and execute a strategic vision

• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills

• History of influencing organizational change and mentoring senior engineers and leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with C, C++, Java, Swift, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, or Hack

• Expertise in developing and scaling large-scale applications

• Strong background in improving product quality via testing, monitoring, and rollout best practices
