This role presents a unique opportunity to help build the first global multi-sided Benefits Marketplace, connecting brokers, employers, and employees worldwide. The platform aims to modernize the $5 trillion benefits industry by simplifying the discovery, purchase, and management of benefits products on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Build: Design a scalable, configurable benefits platform that supports rapid deployment of new benefit types without requiring new code. Manage schemas, validation, pricing logic, and configuration layers.

• Unify Systems: Lead the migration and integration of fragmented regional systems into a single, unified global model, executing strategies for safe rollouts including dual-writes and rollback mechanisms.

• Product Enhancement: Close feature gaps for SMBs by prioritizing initiatives that drive measurable customer outcomes like adoption, retention, and satisfaction.

• Analytics & Tools: Develop intelligent tools and dashboards for brokers and administrators, enabling utilization insights, proactive alerts, and benefit engagement tracking.

• Cross-functional Influence: Collaborate across infrastructure, compliance, security, and product teams to ensure alignment on architecture, quality, and delivery timelines.

• Leadership & Mentorship: Guide engineering teams, mentor junior developers, and drive technical excellence and collaboration across the engineering organization.

• Innovation: Lead the creation of high-performance distributed systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, and maintainability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years in software engineering with proven expertise in architecting large-scale, distributed systems.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with Python, Golang, or Java for backend development in web-scale platforms.

• Cloud Knowledge: Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments is a plus.

• System Design Expertise: Deep understanding of data modeling, APIs, and scalable system architecture.

• Product Ownership: Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end product lifecycle and prioritize work based on customer impact.

• Customer-Focused Approach: Commitment to solving real-world challenges through elegant, efficient, and user-focused engineering solutions.

• Collaboration & Communication: Excellent ability to convey technical concepts across multidisciplinary teams and influence product direction.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual Salary: $180,000 – $315,000 (approx. $15,000 – $26,250 monthly)

• Equity Options: Eligible for company stock options based on role and performance.
