Overview
 

  • Our client is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX.
  • In this role, you will help design and build secure software solutions that enable state and local agencies to issue official IDs—such as driver’s licenses and ID cards—and use modern biometric technologies to improve public safety.
  • You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise directly supports mission-critical projects and advances the future of secure identification.
     

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, document, develop, and deploy software solutions supporting identity management and biometric applications.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Write high-quality, efficient, and scalable code that adheres to industry best practices, coding standards, and project timelines.
  • Perform rigorous testing, debugging, and optimization of software applications to ensure robust performance, security, and reliability.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends, proactively applying new knowledge to improve technical capabilities and enhance team performance.
  • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to analyze user needs, develop functional documentation, and translate requirements into precise technical specifications.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, offering constructive feedback to maintain code quality, consistency, and adherence to development standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, user guides, and technical reports.
  • Serve as a Work Package Manager when assigned, taking accountability for scope definition, scheduling, and progress tracking of specific project components.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team of Software Engineers and Architects to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Engage directly with customers during project implementation phases and provide advanced (Level 3) technical support for issue resolution.
  • Support sales and proposal efforts by contributing technical expertise to bid preparation and solution design.
