In this position you’ll develop software solutions to enable the growth of the community solar business within Nelnet. With a focus on automation and integration with third party products, we will rely on your full stack development skill and end-to-end software delivery knowledge to launch our development practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers high-quality, working software solutions in alignment with team commitments.
- Codes and tests in alignment with development standards and best practices.
- Understands and demonstrates software testing techniques including unit testing, system testing, and performance testing.
- Supports third party software products and extends the solution with internally developed functionality.
- Promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Defines and documents team best practices for a newly forming development team.
- Actively tracks unit test code coverage and performance benchmarks.
- Actively seeks to remain technically current and increase expertise and abilities.
- Understands and exhibits skills to protect data, systems and networks and maintains secure, reliable, redundant systems.
- Understands the importance of production system availability to support the business and participates in on-call rotations.
- Strives to align personal passion and career desires with opportunities and company needs.
- Proficient in developing applications in TypeScript, C# and JavaScript using the following frameworks: Node.js, Angular, .Net 5.0+ frameworks
- Practical experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Strong relational database knowledge
- Proven ability to design and develop cloud native solutions in AWS
- Ability to establish environments from development to production
- Understanding of best practices and methods to integrate applications within the organization and with external partners
- Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle; with exposure to agile or iterative approaches to delivery preferred
- Working knowledge of the network and/or server infrastructure required to host an application on the platforms in areas of expertise
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business functions
- Strong analytical skills to determine effective approaches to business solutions
- Ability to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge in the area of NIST compliance preferred, with strong understanding of best practices in security and accessibility
