Description:

Orion Groups, a professional services firm based in McKinney, Texas, is seeking an experienced Epic Revenue Cycle Solutions Architect to lead the design, validation, and optimization of Epic workflows with a strong focus on Professional Billing (PB) and Digital Arrival (Welcome). This role emphasizes technical architecture and system design, not just operational or training-level expertise. The position offers a fully remote arrangement across the United States with a contract-to-hire structure.

The selected candidate will be a key architectural authority ensuring that Epic’s complex revenue cycle systems integrate seamlessly, function optimally, and align with enterprise-level strategies. This position requires in-depth Epic expertise and hands-on experience with billing workflows, claims processing, automation, and third-party integrations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Leadership:
    Lead the technical design and validation of Epic Revenue Cycle modules, focusing on system integrity and performance.

  • Workflow Design:
    Oversee and validate complex workflow structures across Professional Billing (PB) and Hospital Billing (HB) environments.

  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with Epic vendors, internal architects, and implementation teams to ensure cohesive integration with the organization’s technology ecosystem.

  • Build Oversight:
    Guide and validate build teams, ensuring designs adhere to best practices and maintain system consistency across multiple deployments.

  • Implementation Support:
    Manage all project phases, from planning and design to build, testing, go-live, and post-implementation optimization.

  • Technical Innovation:
    Enhance automation logic within the charge router and claims processing functions to streamline revenue workflows.

  • Integration Management:
    Handle workflow deviations and integration of third-party payment or automation platforms, ensuring seamless end-to-end functionality.


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Epic Expertise:

    • Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience with Epic systems across multiple healthcare networks.

    • Deep understanding of Professional Billing (PB), Hospital Billing (HB), charge router configurations, and claims automation.

  • Epic Certifications (Required/Preferred):

    • Epic Resolute Professional Billing Admin

    • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Admin

    • Epic Resolute Professional Claims

    • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Claims

    • Epic Chronicles

  • Technical Competence:

    • Expertise in designing charge handler tasks, workqueues, claim definition files, and GL build processes.

    • Proficient with fee schedules, charge logic, and custom Clarity reporting.

  • Digital Arrival & Payment Platform Experience:

    • Knowledge of payment plan imports, self-pay balance consolidation, and propensity-to-pay scoring models.

  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Proven track record in leading international teams and managing large-scale hospital go-lives (e.g., 200+ bed facilities).

    • Strong facilitation skills for discovery, design, and validation sessions.

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related technical field.


Benefits and Work Details:

  • Position Type: Full-time (12-month contract-to-hire)

  • Work Arrangement: 100% Remote (Central Time Zone preferred)

  • Compensation: $170,000 – $190,000 annually (W2)

  • Duration: Initial 12-month contract with potential for permanent hire
