RESPONSIBILITIES
Class Instruction
- Lead engaging process art and sensory classes for children ages 18 months - 11 years.
- Deliver age-appropriate instruction and creative projects
- Adapt teaching methods to support each student's needs
- Follow safety protocols while fostering artistic exploration
Program Development
- Design and implement creative art lessons and activities that align with Viva Art’s mission and process art-based approach in collaboration with management, such as:
- Animation, Architecture & Design, Filmmaking, Graphic Design, Puppetry + Storytelling,  Drawing, Painting, Mixed-media, Printmaking, Sculpture, Textile
- Research and propose new art projects and techniques to maintain an engaging program
- Always strive for the curriculum to push boundaries and expose our artists to different mediums
Studio Management
- Prepare materials and set up studio before all sessions
- Monitor and restock art supplies (we are always looking to bring new ideas to Viva Art so any requests for additional supplies needed will be closely evaluated to support your teaching needs)
- Maintain an organized, clean and inspiring workspace
- Ensure safety standards are consistently met
- Organize art shows post class semesters to celebrate student work and foster community engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or 9 educational credits in Elementary Education, Art Therapy, Social Work, Art or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience working with children, specifically in an area of art specialty.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate and photoshop is essential.
- Proficiency in, film, animation, stop motion studio pro
- Proficiency in fashion drawing design, cartooning, comic book making and, arts and crafts preferred
- Working with children between the ages of 1 – 12, 1 year minimum
- Art Instruction and curriculum planning: 1 year minimum
- Spanish expert level speaking and writing
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Able to lift 30- 50lbs
· Walk 1 mile each day

SALARY RANGE: Pay: $19-23 an hour (depending on experience)
SCHEDULE: Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
- 4 hour shift; 8 hour shift; Sun – Sat
- Weekends available as well to assist with birthday parties (When scheduled)
- Morning Toddlers Art + Sensory
- After school 5- 11 year olds
- Evenings as needed
- Extended hours
- Holidays
