Spanish Linguist

Description:

KACE Company is seeking a Spanish Linguist specializing in Caribbean dialects (Puerto Rican and Dominican) to perform transcription and translation for sensitive law enforcement projects. The linguist will convert audio, video, and written content from Spanish to English, analyze slang and colloquialisms, and communicate actionable intelligence to law enforcement agents.

Key responsibilities include:

• Listening to oral and written intercepts and providing accurate transcriptions and verbal/written synopses.

• Contributing to slang and code master-lists and maintaining a voice library for the duration of projects.

• Producing court-ready transcriptions and using specialized software/equipment such as JSI voice box, Pen-link, and Comverse.

• Documenting daily productivity logs and meeting transcription targets (minimum 16 minutes of recorded conversation per 8-hour day).

• Collaborating with management and law enforcement personnel while adhering to project-specific guidelines and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

• U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident

• Knowledge of Caribbean Spanish dialects, colloquial terms, SMS language, social media, and web chat

• Excellent verbal and written skills in English and target language with accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling

• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and communicate effectively with team and management

• Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute

• Successful completion of third-party Language Assessment (Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing) with a minimum score of 3

Clearance:

• Subject to government background investigation

• Security clearance eligibility required

• Favorable credit check, medical and drug screening

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

• Prolonged sitting while monitoring live or taped calls

• Limited mobility required for meetings (0–10% climbing/stooping/kneeling or lifting/pushing)

• Continuous typing and use of telecommunication systems
