Decades in the making, the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum will recognize women’s accomplishments, the history they made, and the communities they represent. To create a more equitable America, the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum is researching, disseminating, and amplifying women’s stories to ensure the role of women in American history is well-known, accurate, acknowledged, and empowering.

In this position, you will:

  • Control the Director's calendar, accepting, declining, rescheduling, or arranging alternate representation for meetings, speaking engagements, ceremonies, travel, and other obligations.
  • Monitor and facilitate all communications, including regular and electronic mail, telephone calls, and personal visits.
  • Review proposals, inquiries, recommendations, and other communications; gathers, prepares and analyzes for relevance and/or assures that background information is provided.
  • Arrange and prepare agendas for a variety of meetings, including the regular staff meetings and those associated with the site selection and other early phases of museum development.
  • Attend meetings, taking notes of requirements, commitments, and decisions made; and prepares and distributes minutes or summaries.
