La Causa, Inc. is seeking a passionate and collaborative Bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve students at its Charter School in Milwaukee, WI, for the 2025–2026 school year. The SLP will play an essential role in supporting students with oral, voice, language, fluency, and auditory disorders, ensuring they achieve their full educational potential.

This position requires a dedicated professional fluent in both English and Spanish, as it involves working closely with bilingual learners, families, and educators. The successful candidate will thrive in a student-focused, multicultural school environment that emphasizes teamwork, professional growth, and a strong commitment to educational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Student Needs: Conduct assessments and determine eligibility for speech and language services.

  • Develop & Implement IEPs: Create and manage individualized education plans tailored to student needs.

  • Provide Direct Therapy: Deliver targeted interventions and speech/language therapy in alignment with IEP goals.

  • Monitor Progress: Track, evaluate, and document student performance and growth.

  • Ensure Compliance: Complete accurate reports, documentation, and mandated duties in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with teachers, families, administrators, and IEP teams to ensure comprehensive student support.

  • Professional Growth: Attend training, workshops, and professional development sessions.

  • School Culture Contribution: Participate in team-building, contribute to a positive learning environment, and take on related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or a closely related field (from an accredited institution).

  • Valid Wisconsin DPI Certification in Speech and Language Pathology (#820).

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (mandatory).

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must pass all required background checks.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Primarily school-based (office/classroom setting).

  • Some local travel required.

  • 10-month salaried position (not eligible for overtime).
