Hitachi Energy is seeking a Sr Analyst, Mergers & Acquisitions for its Wilton, CT location. This role is responsible for identifying, managing and closing investment opportunities to grow and improve the performance of our business. The team uses strategic, financial, investment, and operational frameworks and analyses to execute acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments, and partnerships involving equity participation.

Your responsibilities

  • M&A project support: Support M&A managers and project team through the lifecycle of merger, acquisition, divestiture and joint venture transactions.
  • Lead team member responsible for creating financial models and performing valuation analysis.
  • Complete assigned work products and other ad hoc analyses as needed to support the transaction process.
  • Teamwork and project workflow management: Partner with both internal (business, functional) and external (advisors, consultants) project participants to support and complete discrete work products, as assigned by M&A team managers. Responsible to support business plan development, strategic and financial analysis, determination of synergies, valuation, managing due diligence workstream special topics, legal contract schedule preparation, integration planning.
  • Maintenance of inorganic opportunity pipeline: Manage M&A opportunity pipeline. Assess new opportunities (e.g., inbound teasers from investment banks and brokers) for impact and fit, in collaboration with the Corporate Development team and Business Units, to contribute to decision making process.
  • Prepare reports on acquisition pipeline trend analysis.
  • Innovation of department processes and tools: Identify, develop and maintain processes and tools for best M&A practices.
