Sr Proposal Specialist

 

Description:

APTIM is searching for a Senior Proposal Specialist with engineering experience.to drive all aspects of the development of high quality and compliant architecture/engineering (A/E) proposals for Federal clients.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
 

  • Support engineering business development/capture staff, business unit leaders, subcontractors and partners, and subject matter experts with A/E-specific efforts.
  • Manage creation and maintenance of A/E collateral (including web-based and general marketing) to support proposals and ongoing contracts
  • Lead writing of various A/E sections including resumes, project descriptions, and technical approaches.
  • Lead development of SF330 packages with internal and subcontract personnel
  • Define and manage proposal budgets and schedules.
  • Lead content planning from compliant outline through win themes, section plans and graphics.
  • Coordinate proposal preparation team (subject matter experts/writers, graphic artists, contracts, and other key proposal development functions).
  • Lead effective, results-driven story-lining, kickoff, and review meetings in concert with the capture manager and delivery staff.
  • Conceptualize and develop strategic win themes and discriminators.
  • Facilitate development of compelling solutions with technical and program staff.
  • Apply APTIM's standard proposal management processes, to include schedule, compliance, outlines, storyboards, themes, action items, etc.
  • Develop targeted solicitation questions to ensure compliance.
  • Remain current on all solicitation amendments and modifications.
  • Perform quality check of all proposal sections and volumes to include creation and verification/validation of a detailed compliance matrix.
  • Ultimately responsible for compliance, accuracy and quality.
  • This position will ensure a creative, compelling, and compliant solution is evident in proposal documents and oral presentations.
  • Take end-to-end ownership and command of proposal development and related processes.
  • Write and synthesize proposal/marketing narrative in near-real time as required.
  • Lead and proactively participate in the development of oral presentation slide concepts and scripting.
  • Provide coaching for oral presentations.
  • Advance proposal knowledge-management processes.
  • Mentor new and junior proposal managers/writers
     

Basic Qualifications
 

  • Experience in development of winning SF330 submittals.
  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline is desired.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-volume environment in support of engineering programs. At least 2 years' experience supporting proposal efforts is desired.
  • General understanding of design work.
  • Must have the management skills necessary to direct and orchestrate large, multi-contractor proposal team efforts.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrated organizational capability and ability to balance multiple competing priorities under deadlines.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and write compelling, marketing-oriented proposal narrative and oral presentation slides from scratch as required.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite business applications.
  • Excellent command of English grammar and punctuation is required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • You must be a self-starter and natural leader as you will have end-to-end responsibility for leading your team, up through delivery to the client, of a winning proposal.
  • Although not extensive, some travel as well as evening and weekend work may be required.
