Description:
The Staff Nurse at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is responsible for managing and delivering patient care, as well as supporting and supervising other members of the patient care team. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care in alignment with the center’s professional practice model. The nurse ensures holistic care for both the patient and their family, fostering a supportive environment.
Candidates must have a degree in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). A current Ohio nursing license or interim permit is required. While prior experience in a relevant care setting is preferred, it is not mandatory.
The position is based in Rhodes Hall at University Hospital, with a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. Final candidates will undergo a background check and may be required to complete a drug screen or physical examination as part of the post-offer process.
