Description:
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to improving health through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The Staff Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) plays a vital role in delivering quality nursing care aimed at positive patient outcomes, enhanced patient and family engagement, and reduced hospitalization duration.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and provide comprehensive nursing care to NICU patients and their families.
Direct and supervise nursing care performed by other patient care team members.
Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
Promote staff engagement, contribute to enhancing patient experiences, ensure quality and safety, and support cost-effective care.
Minimum Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (2-Year College Degree) or equivalent education and experience with a major in nursing.
Additional Education Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure:
Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN).
Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit is required.
Experience:
Preferred experience in a relevant care setting (e.g., NICU or similar).
