Description:

Humana is seeking a highly experienced Principal, Stars Enterprise Activation to join its team in Louisville, KY. This leadership role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s Medicare/Medicaid Stars Program, ensuring quality improvement initiatives and strategic integration across all business functions. The position requires strong subject matter expertise in CMS Stars, strategic leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive enterprise-wide transformation in a highly matrixed organization.

The Principal will lead the design, activation, and integration of Stars-related initiatives across Humana’s assets. Key responsibilities include building collaborative partnerships across the business, engaging with functional teams to align strategies, identifying gaps and opportunities, and driving improvements through advanced analytics and cross-functional strategies. The role also entails oversight of reporting, budget management, vendor coordination, and continuous performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Humana’s business and build partnerships across all assets.

  • Lead analytics partners to generate insights and prioritize opportunities for Stars improvement.

  • Create and execute cross-functional strategies, communicating effectively to inspire action and alignment.

  • Maintain a portfolio of improvement work, including optimization of existing programs and new initiatives.

  • Conduct test-and-learn pilots to validate effectiveness of solutions.

  • Provide executive-level reporting and oversee project budgets, vendors, and performance monitoring.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 8–9+ years of quality improvement and/or enterprise strategy experience.

  • Medicare Advantage and CMS Stars program expertise.

  • Proven leadership in people management, influence-based leadership, or managing complex projects.

  • Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence leaders and drive alignment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Role is on-site with full-time hours (40 per week).

  • Compensation includes eligibility for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
