Description:
O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Store Manager in Training to assist and prepare for a management position. This role provides hands-on experience in store operations, sales, and team leadership. The trainee will support the store manager and district manager in all aspects of store performance, learning to supervise retail and professional operations, manage staff, monitor safety compliance, and optimize operational efficiency.
The position emphasizes mentorship, leadership, and preparation for a certified management role. The successful candidate will gain comprehensive training in sales, inventory management, human resources, financials, and customer service, ultimately qualifying for future store management positions.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise store team members and professional services delivery.
Assist in recruiting, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and training staff.
Support store operations including safety compliance, sales, and customer relations.
Manage delivery fleet and maintain related records.
Learn and utilize electronic scheduling, payroll, and KPI dashboards.
Review sales performance, P&L statements, and operational metrics.
Participate in customer calls and support business development initiatives.
Complete required training programs: Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma; excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; knowledge of automotive parts and systems; ability to read/match numerical and alpha characters quickly; completion of O’Reilly training programs.
Preferred: O’Reilly store/distribution center experience, ASE Certification, advanced computer skills, and completed management training program.
