Student Affairs Coordinator

 

Description:

The Student Affairs Coordinator is responsible for providing a wide array of assistance to the graduate and undergraduate programs in Chemical Engineering. Processes applications for the graduate program, prepares and updates student files and databases, calculates GPA's for domestic and foreign applicants, and maintains and organizes all records pertaining to undergraduate curriculum. Assigns faculty advisors to freshman and transfer students. Responsible for the E-grade process and concurrent enrollment grade submission, textbooks and desk copies ordering. Creates statistical reports as needed for the undergraduate and graduate affairs committees. In collaboration with the Student Affairs Manager, coordinates activities for graduate student recruitment weekends, the anual Open House and meetings with undergraduate students.

Additionally, serves as the initial point of contact for the department to students, faculty, visitors, staff and general public. Must possess knowledge of departmental operation to direct requests and questions to the appropriate source. Provides general information to the public regarding the Chemical Engineering department, admissions procedures, qualifications for graduate admissions, and program requirements for the undergraduate and graduate programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently to perform detailed and accurate work while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Must be customer service oriented and able to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Proficient in Google docs, Word and Excel.
