The CU Book Store offers a convenient place for students to prepare for their academic endeavors. The store offers academic course materials, and school supplies for all students, faculty and staff. We also provide logoed gear for all patrons and visitors of the university. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Student Hiring:

  • Responsible for student employee recruitment and hiring, while working with the Marketing Department for marketing, and devising a hiring plan with the leadership team every Fall and Spring semester. Responsible for student application collection and review, interviewing all students and making all employment offers. Delegate student employees to various departments, based on the hiring needs of each department. Plan and complete all student employee onboarding, including I-9 procedures, new hire paperwork and working with the HRSC on ensuring students are hired in a timely manner. Create and maintain student hiring procedures and policies.

Student Employee Scheduling:

  • Collect the scheduling needs of each department and schedule students to meet the needs of the business. Collect student class schedules and build schedules within their availability. Submit schedules in the scheduling system so supervisors can see them. Collect student call-offs and no-shows by a multitude of communications, and find replacement students to fill gaps in schedules.

Student Employee Payroll and HR:

  • Process student timesheets and payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Partner with supervisors to ensure payroll is submitted in a timely manner. Ensure the accuracy of the student payroll, and partner with the HRSC when needed to make corrections to pay. Process student employee terminations, and conduct exit surveys. Facilitate the student yearly review process, modifying review cycle procedures if necessary. Ensure student employee recognition program is updated, including coordinating student employee scholarships.

Other Duties:

  • Participate in weekly sales floor management meetings and planning sessions. Participate in Leadership Team meetings when needed, and in all-staff meetings and activities when available. Work on the sales floor (cashiering, line management, greeting, etc.) during busy times and as needed. Serve as the Student Employment office liaison.
