Hennepin Technical College seeks a Student Financial Support Coordinator dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values excellence, innovation, and inclusion. This position will work directly with Hennepin Technical College (HTC) students and students who have previously attended the college through managing and delivering a diverse set of student support services. This position will personally provide assistance related to student financial management including debt management, financial aid planning, academic advising, and general student affairs services, to a diverse set of students and/or previous students. The Student Financial Support Coordinator will manage daily program
operations, collaborate interdepartmentally with the business office, student success advisors, financial aid advisors, counselors, and other key stakeholders within the college. This position will run regular data reports using technology including Salesforce to continuously improve student financial support process. In addition, the Student Financial Support Coordinator will directly manage a caseload of students who need financial support. The Student Financial Support Coordinator is also responsible for promoting a culture that supports diversity, equity and inclusion in all forms at Hennepin Technical College.

Specific Duties Included:

  • Lead, analyze, review, the student financial support program/process and provide direct student support to students needing financial support. Manage the day-to-day operations of the student financial support program and provide holistic support for students. Coordinate with and assist students by proactively reaching out via various modes of communication (phone, text, email, etc.) to make contact and assist with any and all needs related to student financial support.
  • Support Student and Academic Affairs units by maintaining in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to the student financial support program, admissions, advising, financial aid, registration and records. Create a calendar of program activities and ensure/monitor implementation. Monitor program progress using technology, including Salesforce, and identify strategies to continuously improve based on the data and student needs
  • Regularly generate, share and review reports relevant to the student financial support program through Salesforce, Real-Time Retention or Paced to the Finish (P2TF) dashboard (as needed). Regularly review data with Director of Admissions, Recruiting & Testing to discuss strategies for improving program operations and meeting student needs. Work closely with internal staff to document and track student financial support program progress and keep accurate records for institutional audits.
  • Participate in trainings and professional development. Receive on-going training on federal, state and college policies that may affect student finances. Interpret and review existing state, federal and college policies and procedures to share accurate information with employees and students.
  • Establish working relationships with other departments, including financial aid, tutoring, advising/counseling, faculty, and others, to resolve student financial situations. Represent the campus to share insights and lessons learned about implementing the program
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions, Recruiting & Testing to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization
