This role is ideal for a highly motivated leader with a strong track record in healthcare architecture and design, and a passion for shaping the future of healthcare environments.

As a Studio Principal, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of architects, planners, and designers to deliver innovative and high-performing healthcare projects. You will collaborate closely with the Office President and Healthcare Practice Leader to develop a long-term strategic plan to expand the studio’s reach and client base, particularly within North Carolina.

Key responsibilities include leading the Healthcare Studio, managing client relationships, developing new business, and overseeing project delivery from inception to completion. This role offers a high degree of autonomy and influence, with the support of a large, well-resourced firm.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator and mentor, with the ability to inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and mentor team members while maintaining a positive and engaging work environment. A deep understanding of the drivers, trends, and innovations shaping the healthcare industry is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Healthcare Studio in Durham, NC, with strategic support from other offices in Charlotte and Charleston.

• Develop and manage client relationships, including financial and account management.

• Drive business development and strategic growth within the healthcare sector.

• Oversee project execution, ensuring innovative, patient-centered, and high-performance designs.

• Mentor, inspire, and develop a multidisciplinary team of architects and designers.

• Collaborate with leadership teams to create and implement long-term growth strategies.

Qualifications:

• Registered Architect with 10+ years of experience in healthcare architecture and design.

• Extensive experience in healthcare planning and design, particularly within North Carolina.

• Proven track record of developing new business and managing hospital client relationships.

• Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills.

• Experience managing a team and overseeing project financials.
