Summer Art Camp Interns

Description:

Wayne Art Center provides the opportunity for motivated, creative individuals to join our team for the 2026 Summer Art Camp season. The 2026 Summer Art Camp Intern works under the guidance of the Youth-Teen Program Coordinator and provides support for classroom teachers and administrative staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced art center environment, learn essential skills, and contribute to the smooth operation of our Summer Art Camp program.

REPORTS TO: Youth – Teen Program Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Executive Director

Qualifications
 

• BFA candidate preferred
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in the visual arts and working with youth/teens
   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned throughout the summer) Duties include primary accountability for the following:

Key Responsibilities
 

• Support classroom teachers with set-up, clean-up, materials preparation, and instruction
• Assist with camper check-in, attendance, medical information, and daily operations
• Supervise students during lunch and transitions between activities
• Organize art supplies, studios, and storage areas
• Photograph camp activities and artwork; organize and upload images weekly
• Assist with social media content, promotional materials, signage, and database entry
• Serve as a substitute teacher when needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned
