Duties

  • The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
  • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as a consultant and advisor to officials of the Department on matters relating to the Division and in the broad administration of program activities relating to Transportation and Marketing
  • Oversee all aspects of implementation of the Regional Food Business Centers, including financial and program integrity.
  • Serve as a conduit for communicating information and tasks between the Agency and stakeholders and serves as a liaison to industry officials.
  • Ensure adequate managerial and financial controls in accordance with policy and directives concerning financial assistance, personnel, transparency, payment integrity, and administrative matters.
  • Directly supervise a team. Reviews work of Branch staff to assure proper use of guidelines/instructions and that necessary deadlines are being met.
  • Anticipate and responds to requests for information: requests may come from within the Department, the public, AMS co-workers and other government entities.
  • Assure efficient, healthy, and congenial working conditions, safeguarding employee morale; Uses appropriate methods and approaches to deal effectively with poor performers.
