Description:

Duties

  • Serves as the Construction Branch Chief to the District and field offices, managing civil works construction, Hazardous Toxic and Radiological Waste (HTRW) remediation, and diverse military construction programs.
  • Provides expert and/or technical review of specific engineering features for the most significant, complex, or controversial projects assigned to their section.
  • Provides technical input/oversight of contract administration to engineers in charge of field offices for projects for new construction; scheduling, maintenance, repair of existing facilities, and for special projects.
  • Overseeing engineering professionals and construction projects for contract construction programs to ensure execution and enforcement of governing policies and regulatory requirements.

  • PROBATIONARY PERIOD - Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • NATIONAL AGENCY CHECK WITH WRITTEN INQUIRIES (NACI) - Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment
  • SUPERVISORY PROBATION - This position is supervisory as defined by the OPM General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE- Professional engineering or architecture registration is required for placement in this position.
  • CONTRACT OFFICER- Incumbent must obtain appointment via a Contracting Officer Review Board, as Administrative Contracting Officer within 6 months of appointment.
  • FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE - This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • DRIVER'S LICENSE - The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • PERFORM TEMPORARY DUTY (TDY) - This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
