Description:
DNV Maritime Americas is seeking a Surveyor and Auditor to join our Miami location. As a fleet in service surveyor you will be a member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving the cruise Industry and various ship types (eg: Tankers, Bulk carriers, containers) calling at ports in the caribbean.
What You will do:
- Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the rules, regulations, instructions, guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management.
- Work on-site surveys during dry docking and in service.
- Maintain the confidentiality of client's business, processes, designs, developments and documentation at all times.
- When applicable, to supervise the work of others and ensure that it is carried out as above and in an efficient and economic manner.
- Communicate to line management at the earliest opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization.
- Exhibit customer oriented focus through promoting DNV onboard or on site and by acting as a technical resource for customer question.
Surveyor Responsibilities
- Survey/audit ships that call at ports along the US East Coast for compliance with international standards, DNV Classification Rules, and Statutory requirements
- Inspection and certification of materials and equipment at facilities in US East Coast.
- Survey/Inspection of ships during new building construction at local shipyards.
