Description:

Randstad Digital Americas is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator for a contract position based in Chandler, Arizona. The role is focused on providing comprehensive Windows Systems Administration support, particularly for Management Controller IP changes, as well as ensuring smooth IT operations across physical and virtual environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling daily system administration tasks, managing VMware environments, maintaining operational standards, and providing robust technical support. This position requires a professional with a strong background in Windows Server administration, VMware, clustering, scripting, and ITIL-aligned risk governance.

Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working under pressure in a large-scale, business-critical environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting skills are essential, as the role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, supporting production environments, and managing incident/change/problem requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage Windows operating systems on both VM and x86 hardware.

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows servers, enterprise tools, and clusters.

  • Provide technical assistance and solutions through the established ticketing system.

  • Manage and maintain Virtual Machines in VMware Virtual Centers, including resource adjustments and vMotion.

  • Troubleshoot OS, hardware, and application-related issues across environments.

  • Configure and support DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

  • Provide on-call support for production environments and assist in incident resolution.

  • Support Windows servers within DMZ environments.

  • Document technical standards and contribute to operational process improvements.

  • Utilize scripting skills (PowerShell or Python) for automation and process optimization.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • Strong background in Windows Server Administration (2016/2019) and VMware Administration.

  • Experience with clustering, virtualization, and enterprise IT tools.

  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Windows command line.

  • Hands-on experience with Windows clusters and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with ITIL framework, risk governance, and operational controls.

  • Ability to analyze and improve existing processes to eliminate performance bottlenecks.

  • Flexibility to cover multiple schedules (M-F 8am–5pm EST, 12–9pm EST, and weekends).

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, business-critical environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong PowerShell or Python scripting ability.

  • Experience managing servers within DMZ environments.

  • Solid understanding of data center operations and OS-related troubleshooting.
