EY is actively seeking a Tax Manager within its Private Client Services (PCS) division of the Financial Services Organization (FSO). This is a leadership opportunity in a growing practice focused on serving high-growth private companies, private equity-owned businesses, and high-profile individuals and families. EY’s PCS team delivers sophisticated tax advisory, compliance, estate planning, and wealth structuring services to an elite portfolio of clients.

Based in New York City (or select locations like Chicago, Hoboken, Jericho, and Boston), this on-site role offers the chance to work within a globally recognized organization that prioritizes integrity, innovation, and inclusivity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage tax compliance and planning for a variety of private clients, including C-Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals/families.

  • Serve as the key advisor to clients, delivering value-driven strategies tailored to complex financial situations.

  • Research intricate tax matters and translate findings into actionable plans.

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and serve as a liaison between EY and client executive teams.

  • Oversee and mentor a team of tax professionals, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and service.

  • Review and manage federal and state tax returns, as well as provisions for both flow-through and corporate entities.

  • Identify risks and opportunities in client operations and internal processes, providing innovative solutions.

  • Contribute to EY’s collaborative and high-performing culture by supporting cross-functional and cross-border initiatives.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, taxation, finance, or a related field

  • CPA certification or membership in The Bar is mandatory

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in professional services or tax consulting

  • In-depth knowledge of estate and wealth planning, personal and trust taxation

  • Experience with complex tax structures including partnerships, LLCs, S-Corps, and consolidated C-Corp tax filings

  • Advanced understanding of automated tax systems and financial tools

  • Proven leadership in managing tax teams and client relationships

  • Strong communication and client-service skills

  • Willingness to travel and operate in a hybrid client-serving model


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in tax planning for private clients, families, and private enterprises

  • Experience in coaching junior professionals in a mentorship or team-lead role

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen to handle intricate tax scenarios


Benefits and Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary: $105,400 to $193,200 (New York metro range: up to $219,500)
