Team Lead Technician

Description:

Unilever, the producer of the leading mayonnaise brand in the United States, is seeking a Maintenance - Team Lead Line Technician to join its Chicago, IL manufacturing site. This is a union-based, on-site full-time position working on 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Monday to Friday). The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal line performance, and leading a team of technical operators.

This role is crucial in supporting Unilever’s mission to provide high-quality products while advancing sustainable practices like reducing packaging waste. The Maintenance Team Lead plays a vital role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and guiding peers to meet production goals safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain a wide range of machinery including packaging equipment, conveyor systems, and processing units.

• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance work independently or in teams.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.

• Conduct equipment inspections and proactively identify and resolve operational issues.

• Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental standards while carrying out duties.

• Lead and mentor a team of technical operators on maintenance protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Prior experience in industrial maintenance or similar technical roles.

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills in pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyance systems.
