Description:
Axon is seeking a Technician Supervisor to lead a team of Automation Technicians responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance on automated production equipment. This role involves maintaining high equipment performance and uptime, coordinating cross-functional manufacturing activities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing rework rates and increasing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise maintenance activities supporting Axon’s manufacturing operations
Communicate equipment status with manufacturing line leads and supervisors
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers for solutions
Manage work orders in Axon’s CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
Monitor spare parts needs and maintain inventory accuracy to prevent downtime
Participate in process reviews and problem-solving sessions
Follow Environmental Health and Safety guidelines
Lead coordination to address rework inventory backlog, ensuring timely quality issue resolution
Monitor and communicate First Pass Yield (FPY) issues to cross-functional teams
Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to execute rework activities
Track rework turnaround times and drive process improvements
Provide updates on rework status to Senior Leadership and relevant teams
Train technicians on rework procedures, product specs, and documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives on automated lines
Qualifications:
GED or Associate Degree in a related field
Minimum 5 years supervising technical manufacturing teams working with complex automated equipment
Strong knowledge of automation, mechanical systems, and pneumatics
Experience with automated assembly and high volume automated systems preferred
Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
Basic computer skills
