Description:
Hard working individual willing to start work immediately, up to 20 hours per week to work with paleontological (paleobotanical) specimens and specimen databasing. This would include some mechanical processing of rock samples (cutting them on an oil cooled rock saw) and some museum type tasks (curating plant fossils, data entry in a database). Some moderately heavy lifting will be occasionally required. Databasing will involve working with the KU Biodiversity Institute’s Specify database. This job requires a certain degree of mechanical inclination and with no fear of getting dirt and/or oil under your fingernails or listening to the buzz of a rock saw! Biology or Geology degrees (with at least a 2.5 GPA) preferred.
