Description:
Shaw Industries, a global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of carpeting, hardwood, laminate, and ceramic tile for both residential and commercial applications, is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to manage the Eastern Shore of Maryland region. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining and increasing Shaw’s profitability and market share within the designated territory by building strong relationships with customers through superior knowledge, service, and integrity.
This position involves implementing key market programs, developing new business, and expanding Shaw’s product reach through proactive sales and account management. The role offers an exciting opportunity to represent Shaw’s diverse product line, including Shaw Floors, Anderson Tuftex, Philly Commercial, and CORETEC.
Conduct daily sales calls with existing customers, emphasizing the sale of hard surface flooring products, samples, adhesives, and related materials.
Present Shaw’s range of products to retail dealers, designers, and end-users while leveraging corporate reports to pursue new leads.
Assemble and set up product display racks (weighing 50 lbs or more) at client locations as needed.
Actively prospect for new business opportunities and maintain strong awareness of local market dynamics.
Prepare detailed reports on business transactions, sales results, and market conditions to aid in territory planning and goal setting.
Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and sales data in Salesforce.com.
Manage travel and sample budgets efficiently to meet company guidelines.
Promote all residential product lines and educate clients about the unique advantages of Shaw’s flooring solutions.
Travel regularly within the assigned territory using an approved vehicle (SUV or van required due to sample transport needs).
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; a college degree is advantageous.
Experience: Previous sales experience is mandatory, with preference for candidates having experience in flooring, construction materials, or similar industries.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software such as Salesforce.com.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift more than 50 lbs and assemble/take down product displays.
Other Requirements: Must reside within the assigned territory and operate a vehicle that meets Shaw’s approved specifications (SUV or van).
