Description:

The new leader for Medicare Advantage (MA) will oversee MA business performance in all states and field Operations and ensure key growth levers (Network, Product, Bids, Affordability) are delivered for Medicare Advantage, and will report directly to the President, Medicare and CareAllies.
In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for driving the performance and influencing growth of the Medicare Advantage line of business. He/she will act as a key contributor to the development, execution and advancement of business strategy, network, growth, mission, vision and values.
The mission for this new leader will be to grow the geographic and product footprint, strengthen the value proposition, enable profitable growth, and collaborate with US Commercial all while maintaining a tight operation as it relates to quality, performance, financial profitability metrics, employee engagement, and compliance.

Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Medicare Advantage job description is intended to point out major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.
Accountable for the overall performance of the Medicare Advantage (MA) Line of Business. This will include among other responsibilities:
Financial performance.
Market and product expansions.
Product offerings and Pricing.
Affordability.
Development of the market's strategy and its execution.
Evolution of existing market strategies.
Identification and development of new market strategies.
Network design concordant with marketability, affordability, and CMS standards.
Inform and influence growth.
Maintain a culture of compliance - demonstrate that Medicare will continue to operate in a compliant manner.
Collaborate with Risk Adjustment and Stars teams to maintain/improve performance.
Drive new product development to meet market demands.
Develop/Finalize multi-year MA capability roadmap, including influencing key matrix partners for financial and operational support, with an emphasis on Customer, Provider, and Broker capabilities.
Have a deep understanding of analytics and how to best use the data; unlock some of the available insights to drive business decisions.
Uphold a team culture of accountability and results.
Engage with physicians and providers. Accountable for driving growth in value based provider relations that will accelerate growth and overall business performance.
Exercise financial discipline; the leader will need to be financially savvy and balance tradeoffs
Develop a strong operating model; appropriately sequence events in order to achieve the greatest impact for the business.
Be a player/coach; roll up his/her sleeves, help the team prioritize and execute.
Partner effectively with Cigna's Commercial colleagues.
Develop effective working relationships with Cigna's Health Services leadership.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize performance across the Medicare suite of products.
Evolve and iterate MA strategy.
Advance the enterprise’s thinking around Medicare options.
Operate as an enterprise leader on MA through periodic interactions with Cigna's Board of Directors, Cigna's Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT), and Cigna's cross-business executive leadership teams.

Reports to the President, Medicare and CareAllies and leads a team of five direct reports.

Qualifications:
Experience in building strong relationships, solving problems, and managing in a matrix environment.
Broad knowledge of health insurance and services delivery and functions.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state and CMS based requirements and the ability to develop, distribute and administer Medicare programs in a compliant manner.
Success managing multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
Experience with integrating health plan support services and other elements of operations in high-growth environment.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
Strong manager, strategist, visionary, change agent
Excellent influencing skills
Understanding of the dynamics of change management
Process improvement skills and experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven track record in leading and developing staff
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in managing multiple tasks as the same time

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most of the work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they come on site.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $255,100 - $382,700, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
