The Vice President, U.S. Commercial Operations will lead the establishment, growth, and operational excellence of BWXT’s U.S. Commercial Operations business. This high-impact executive role requires a strategic, entrepreneurial leader capable of driving large-scale operations, developing U.S. market presence, and ensuring world-class safety, compliance, and profitability.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the U.S. market entry and expansion strategy in alignment with BWXT’s global commercial goals.

  • Build organizational structure, culture, and operational excellence for sustainable business growth.

  • Oversee the transition from market development to fully functional operations, leveraging best practices from BWXT’s Canadian divisions.

Operations & Quality Management

  • Establish and manage comprehensive quality programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety standards.

  • Lead core operational areas including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, production planning, and customer delivery.

  • Oversee manufacturing shops (nuclear and fossil), ensuring peak performance, facility maintenance, and labor relations compliance.

  • Ensure production efficiency, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Commercial Growth & Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities and strategic partnerships within the U.S. market.

  • Represent BWXT in client negotiations, strategic contracts, and major commercial proposals.

  • Meet or exceed key performance metrics such as revenue, bookings, and operating income.

People & Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop top-tier teams across all operational and commercial functions.

  • Cultivate a workplace culture rooted in safety, accountability, integrity, and innovation.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients, regulators, and industry partners.

Compliance & Financial Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to all U.S. and international nuclear regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee budget management, capital planning, and P&L responsibility for U.S. operations.

  • Implement cost optimization and process improvement initiatives to enhance business performance.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business (Master’s preferred).

  • 15–20+ years of experience in commercial operations, manufacturing, or engineering leadership.

  • Demonstrated success in P&L management, market development, and team leadership.

  • Deep understanding of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and safety programs.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, large teams, and high-stakes client relationships.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
