FleishmanHillard, a globally recognized leader in strategic communications and public relations, is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Vice President (VP) of Healthcare Communications to join their expanding healthcare team. The selected candidate will partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to design, lead, and execute high-impact campaigns in the healthcare and life sciences sector. The role demands a balance of strategic thinking, creative storytelling, and leadership acumen to manage complex accounts, oversee integrated communications programs, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a day-to-day client contact for global healthcare accounts, managing program implementation for various stakeholders including patients, healthcare professionals, advocacy groups, media, and policy influencers.
Lead and oversee healthcare communications projects, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of client materials such as strategic plans, press materials, research reports, digital content, and thought leadership pieces.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and client deliverables while contributing to new business development and proposal creation.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with traditional and digital media outlets, key industry influencers, and third-party advocacy organizations to secure impactful coverage.
Translate complex medical and scientific information into clear, accessible, and engaging content tailored to both professional and consumer audiences.
Collaborate with creative, digital, and analytics teams to design integrated campaigns that align with client objectives and industry trends.
Provide team leadership through mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to junior and mid-level staff.
Qualifications
At least 8 years of experience in healthcare communications or public relations, ideally within an agency environment.
Proven background in pharmaceutical communications including regulatory milestones, product launches, data communications, and disease awareness campaigns.
Strong expertise in media relations, content development, and digital communications strategies.
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify scientific or technical information for a broad audience.
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously, maintaining exceptional attention to detail under tight deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and building trusted client relationships.

Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary range: $77,000 - $175,000 annually (based on experience, skills, and geography).
