Watershed Outreach Coordinator

GreenWorks seeks a Watershed Outreach Coordinator to play a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its plans for growth in alignment with its mission, vision, and values. The Watershed Outreach Coordinator will advance Asheville GreenWorks’ Rivers & Roads initiatives and educate the community on water quality-related subjects.

This position works with various community contacts, internal initiatives, and external/joint programs. This position will empower communities to ensure everyone has support, access, and resources to advocate for their ecological needs. A successful candidate must communicate effectively, in multiple ways, with a diverse range of stakeholders. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engage and steward the StreamKeeper Program
• Provide education, support, and guidance for community-led projects
• Organize and lead strategic water quality projects with volunteers
• Participate in outreach opportunities such as speaking engagements and tabling events
• Maintain AGW fleet of boats, trailers, and equipment for project use
• Coordinate the Adopt-a-Street, WNC Big Sweep, Clean Streams Day, and DIY programs
• Maintain records and reporting on volunteer data

TRASH TROUT MANAGEMENT

• Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of local Trash Trout Litter Capturing devices
• Deliver and install devices through the Trash Trout Sales program

Candidates must possess the following key qualifications:

• Experienced paddler and competent swimmer
• Be highly collaborative across teams and disciplines
• Be adaptable and quick-thinking under pressure
• General understanding of managing projects or initiatives
• Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to support and organize diverse communities
• Ability to operate company pickup trucks with class III trailers - NC driver’s license Required (or to be acquired upon hiring), and a clean driving record
• Exhibit excellent organizational skills
• A commitment to and passion for GreenWorks’ mission
