Join the corporate marketing team in creating a strong, unified online presence for Emsi Burning Glass's products and research. Work alongside team members to build and edit our client-facing websites, manage internal systems, knowledge bases, and handle ongoing web page requests and edits.
About Our Stack: Our stack is currently transitional and includes many different technologies. We are moving from WordPress to a headless, JAMstack architecture composed of Gatsby, GraphQL, and DatoCMS.
Responsibilities
- Build world class experiences for our customers with WordPress keeping usability and web accessibility at top of mind
- Create and maintain interactive web pages, editable/templatized marketing landing pages, and unique user experiences
- Work with Marketing UI/UX designers to translate designs into pixel perfect code
- Be the expert on viability and approach to web projects
Required Qualifications
- Solid, publicly viewable examples of real world HTML, CSS, and Javascript projects
- Desire to collaborate with others within a fast-paced Marketing department
- Ability to write clean code and clear documentation with minimal oversight
- Semantic HTML experience with an understanding of how HTML impacts SEO
- CSS experience (We use Tailwind for the legacy web projects, and Tailwind and Styled components for our modernized projects)
- Javascript knowledge (vanilla as well as React, Gatsby)
- Responsive web design experience
- Experience with Wordpress, especially advanced custom fields
- PHP knowledge
- Experience with cross browser and cross device testing
- Deep understanding of Git (we use GitLab)
- Experience translating designs from Figma into live web pages
- Ability to scope project requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Tracking engagement and visitor traffic with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- Creating experiments with Google Optimize to continuously improve user experience
- Experience with monitoring and improving key performance indicators like Speed Index and Time to Interactive
- Patience to debug code and a hunger to learn constantly
Nice to haves
- Experience with Gatsby Cloud, especially functions
- Understanding of Algolia search
- Analyzing user behavior with Microsoft Clarity
- Knowledge of modern build pipelines and tools (CI/CD)
- Experience with GraphQL and/or REST APIs, as well as creating webhooks
- Demonstrated experience with a headless content management system (we use DatoCMS)
- Demonstrated experience with static site generators (we use Gatsby)
- Understanding of effective content modeling strategies
- Experience with Local by Flywheel (our Wordpress development and deployment tool)
- Familiarity with Hubspot
- Familiarity with Agile Project Management (and Jira and Confluence)
