Description:

Midland States Bank is seeking an experienced Web Developer to join its custom development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and enhance a range of digital platforms including custom applications, internal systems, and the public-facing website. The ideal candidate should reside within the bank's operational footprint (Illinois or St. Louis, MO) and be passionate about developing secure, scalable, and efficient digital tools that align with the bank’s strategic objectives.

As a Web Developer, you will contribute to system architecture, develop and implement web applications, and ensure best practices in areas such as performance, security, and UX/UI. You will participate in the complete development lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain websites, APIs, and custom applications

  • Ensure digital strategies are aligned with business objectives

  • Utilize PHP or JavaScript-based languages and CMS platforms such as Drupal

  • Maintain version control (GIT, TFS) and work with platforms like Acquia

  • Conduct assessments on security, performance, and backup recovery

  • Establish and document development standards and practices

  • Participate in testing, deployment, and long-term sustainment

  • Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act

  • Occasionally travel for meetings or training; potential in-office work required

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • PHP, JavaScript, and version control systems

  • Agile methodology and CMS experience (Drupal preferred)

  • Acquia or similar hosting platform knowledge

  • Background in UI/UX, Google Analytics, and marketing automation

  • Familiarity with financial databases, codes, and systems
